Microdermabrasion is a treatment to gently smooth away dull, damaged skin cells to prepare the skin for various treatments. Microdermabrasion is an exfoliating service in which tiny crystals are sprayed onto the skin to gently remove the outer layer of your skin. Topical anesthetic can be used, but is generally not needed. Used to improve acne and the discoloration from acne and acne scars, microdermabrasion is generally less abraisive than dermabrasion, where the outer layers of the skin are brushed away.

Recovery from Microdermabraison treatment

After your microdermabraision treatment is complete, your skin will be pink for about 24 hours or so. Also, dryness and tightness is common and normal. You should use moisturiser and sunscreen for the first few days to help with the texture and look of your skin. You can also use makeup to cover the pinkness in your skin after the first 24 hours or so. In about a week, you will notice softer and smoother skin with acne scarring and blemishes being significantly reduced.
